Shamanic Ethnobotany

For over 25 years, we have been discovering the ancient practices of Andean & Amazonian shamanic cultures & spirit communication.

At our Tarapoto Center, we open our forests & gardens, introduce our maestras, and offer this knowledge to you.

Opening with the traditional method of dieta, Plant-Spirit Communication, field identification, preparations instruction, formlula creation, shamanic ritual, scientific reviews of properties, and indigenous cosmology follow suit for a holistic plant learning experience.

Learn: Banos Floridas, Women-s Health Formulas, Herbal Medicines, Spirit Identification, Smokes, Eye Administers, and so much more...

Medicine Preparations

Our indigenous relations have been providing us with ancient formulas of Amazonian medicines preparations, to which we now prepare & use in both practice & educational programs. This includes the processes of field identification, harvesting methods, planting methods, spirit communication processes, processing (tincturing, powdering, tea formulas, combination formulas for specific ailments, etc.), and medicine applications (to which we offer experimental treatments to groups & interested parties. In addition, we are always in the process of refining formulas, scientific investigations of known plant phytochemicals & research results, and experimenting in our Laboratory.

Botanical Gardens

Our botanical gardens serve as a convenient walk-through for Amazonian plant identification (complete with local & scientific name labeling), as well harvesting materials for crafting medicines (field harvest classroom grounds). We are always in the process of expanding the gardens through sustainable planting & continuous expansion of our conservation area to make space for larger gardens that will sustain future generations. Visitors & students are always shown how to work with the gardens, through plant communication & harvesting, under the supervision of our Maestras.

Laboratory

Far from the normal laboratory, our field laboratory in Tarapoto is designed to focus on original technologies & medicine-making equipment traditionally used in indigenous culture and herbalism.

We incorporate modern technologies such as essential oil distillation, tincturing, and other such methods as well.

Our Laboratory serves as a classroom, a medicine making & storage space, the local pharmacy for the surrounding area, and an experiemental facility.

Indigenous Wisdom

In our history, we have developed intricate relationships with indigenous healers & practitioners who are always offering their wisdom for our continual learning. Over time, we have developed programs where our facility is able to have appropriate translators & specialists to serve as bridges in the psychological & actual translations of indigenous science.

Educational Programs

Our education programs, workshops, & volunteering opportunities are intended to share this potent knowledge with global parties & aspiring practitioners. These programs are reflective of 25 years of intensive field research, learning, and practitioner practice with indigenous healing systems. Translated by our staff, students are taught by our Maestras  & medicine staff in the arts of Amazonian plant field identification, harvesting methods, indigenous wisdom & cosmology in plant-spirit communication & shamanic ritual, preparations formulas, and treatment assessment. Please e-mail us for more information.

Conservation

We currently are recognized as a legal conservation entity, conserving 20 hectares of Amazonian Rainforest.  We aspire to expand our territory, which not only involves expanding our hectares, but also the upkeep  & sustainable practices used to continue the preservation & natural well-being of the forest diversity & wildlife. We practice sustainable planting of wild native plants & continue to seek further indigenous wisdom in the continuation of improving the health of the forests. See tamboillusion.com (or our conservation tab) for more information.
